The best natural way to keep spiders out of your home

Nothing can drown out the sound of a homeowner finding their first spider in their home. Although spiders are beneficial in controlling pests, most people would prefer to not have them around. You can use plants or aromatic oils to repel spiders from your home. The pesticide spray bottle should scare you more than the spider.

There are simple ways to keep them out of your home using essential oils. You can make your home unfavorable to spiders by diffusing essential oils or applying them at entry points.

Needed:

Peppermint essential oil, citrus, tea trees, warm water, and an eco-friendly dish detergent

What is essential oil?

Many insects hate the oil. The essential oils are loved by us, but spiders find them disgusting. Spiders use their tiny front legs for a variety of purposes, including to feed. It is unlikely that spiders will enjoy food if they touch the essential oil on their legs. Although this is more an assumption than a scientific fact, it is still a valid point. However, essential oils are not liked by spiders.

Why use dish soap?

The soap breaks down oil molecules in water, resulting in a more consistent solution.

How to make a spider-stay away spray using only natural ingredients

  • Use 5 to 7 drops pure essential oil of peppermint, tea tree, lavender, or citrus.
  • liquid dish detergent
  • Warm water
  • clean spraying bottle
  • A dash of white vinegar (optional)

Add the oil drops to the spraying bottle. Fill the rest of the container with warm water. Put the liquid detergent in the spraying bottle, add the top, and shake the bottle for a few seconds.

Clean all spider webs and egg sacs with a vacuum before you start spraying. Spray around windows frames, door cracks and dark, gloomy places where spiders might be hiding. White vinegar can cause some surface and fabric problems if you have already added it.

You can rest assured that you will not be sucked in by spiders while you sleep

It is possible you have heard of the urban legend that you can swallow a spider if your mouth is open while you sleep. This is false, but it’s true. Spiders don’t want to crawl into your mouth, they prefer to stay outside where there is plenty of insects around.

Actually, spiders fear you more than you fear them. If someone tells you that you should sleep with your mouth open and swallow a spider, it’s a myth.

They may end up in the ear or mouth of someone else, but that’s not a problem.
